Imposter Complex is still one of the rooms I know best.
For close to twenty years, I’ve helped capable people navigate Imposter Complex and the consequential decisions that arrive as their work, influence and visibility expand.
That work remains central.
Imposter Complex can show up as over-preparing, perfectionism, second-guessing, comparison, isolation or the suspicion that the room is about to discover you are not quite as capable as the evidence suggests.
What I understand now is that the internal experience is often occurring inside a larger terrain.

The Blueprint Void is what it feels like to move without a useful model or precedent.
The Visibility Tax is the additional scrutiny, exposure and pressure that can arrive as your influence expands.

Imposter Complex remains a core part of my work. I use the term Imposter Complex rather than Imposter Syndrome because this experience is not a pathology. It is often a predictable activation at the edge of greater visibility, responsibility and change.
We will work with it when it is present. We will also consider the room, the structure, the available precedent and the actual demands of the work before deciding where the problem lives.
