TGtv Episode 8 – What if someone in your life doesn't WANT you to step into your starring role?

You've made the decision to leap. You're gonna DO it. You're going to step into your starring role, overcome your Imposter Complex, seize the brass ring and own your authority.

The angels are singing glory hallelujah on high (we are too.)

But you're worried what others might think. You're sure there is someone...or maybe SOMEONES who don't want that for you.

Oh. This is a tough tough place to be.

I've seen it from every side.

And I've got some thoughts for you.

Watch on.

Bottom line: real love, unconditional love…that’s wanting for someone else what they deeply want for themselves.

TGtv Episode 7 - Healthy & Happy wishes for my 10-year old girl

Our baby girl turns TEN today (April 12th). Oh my. Oh my. This is the first birthday of hers that I remember (VIVIDLY) my very own. (Though the pink parasol that I received on my fifth birthday is still pretty fresh in my mind.)

It felt momentous...mostly the double-digit thing. But it wasn’t with excitement that I met it. More like a sense of dread. It felt like a short step from ten to teenager…that fraught time of hormones, and rage, and serious conversations, and heavy makeup and brooding music and hairspray. It didn’t feel like freedom…it felt like the beginnings of becoming someone I didn’t want to be.

It was the first of many reminders that whether I wanted it to or not, time moved on. Whether or not ANY us were ready for it.

I’m watching these teeny bouts of melancholy play out in my girl too, trying hard to be with her where SHE is. I see in her the dawning recognition that the world around her, right and wrong, is becoming hers to start to own. The injustices, the unfairness, the wrongs to be righted. It’s no wonder that the world of Littlest Pet Shop still calls her back.

Inevitably, I’m thinking back to her previous birthdays. Her ninth. Her eighth. And her seventh. It’s her seventh birthday that I want to share with you.

Yes.

Run my dear, from anything that may not strengthen your precious budding wings. - Hafiz

Yes. Yes.

So, will you play along? Will you help her to witness the power of her wishes? Will you consider what YOU can do today to be happier and healthier? And will you share that here in the comments or via Facebook, Twitter or Instagram with the hashtag #HealthyHappy10?

Knowing that you’re doing what you can to be healthier and happier will make her tenth birthday extra magical.

Thank you. Thank you.

TGtv Episode 5 - Traditions, Rules and Stories (or, the Time I Peed in Public)

Yeah. Just a little story about public urination. Isn’t it what everybody wants to hear about this holiday season? Thought so.

Settle in and I’ll you THAT story…but before we dive in, think about your upcoming holiday schedule. Much goodness ahead, to be sure. And still, are you noticing the places where you’re dragging your heels? Does there seem to be an unusual number of obligations that “need” to be tended to?

Maybe it’s time to transform them.

Watch on.

So…will you consider::

1)   What traditions, rules and stories YOU are ready to transform. Share in the comments, over on Facebook or via email. It feels so good to claim it.

2)   What other issues you’re facing in your business or life that you’d love me to tackle in an upcoming episode. I’m willing to bet you’re not the only facing it. Let me know over Facebook or via email.

TGtv Episode 4 – How NOT to launch

Live (ish) from New York, it’s TGtv…

I’m here for Golden Ticket with Michelle Ward. Crazy, crazy excited to be meet all the Goddesses rock their message out on video in an off-Broadway black box theatre. And that will be one delicious celebratory glass of champagne at the end of the day.

And my family came with me. This, my friends, has been part of the dream. The work I love WITH my family? Truly sublime. Bursting with gratitude. The Kid has seen herself on a screen in Times Square, we have had the experience of “Annie” sippy cups of (questionable) wine at the Palace theatre. Carriage ride in Central Park, Statten Island ferry, MoMa, FAO Schwartz, the whispering corner at Grand Central are on the agenda.

As such, this will be quick ‘n useful.

Last week, I decided to launch the Dress Rehearsal version of Step into Your Starring Role program.

I live and breathe the content. It’s what I do with my clients all the time: helping them go from feeling like an understudy in their lives to the starring role. It’s also deeply rooted in the TEDx Women talk I did in December. So, the content lives and breathes and is very very very good.

But I haven’t done it in a group before and have been deeeeeeply wanting to. And so I decided to. Last Thursday. I did NOT do my due diligence, got a little sloppy, didn’t pay attention to details and yet, YET….

Please note - some people have reported that the video is hard to hear even with their speakers turned all the way up. Try using headphones - that seems to do the trick!

So.

  • I do NOT recommend launching on Saturdays.

  • I DO recommend paying attention to details.

  • I DO recommend doing due diligence and consulting with people in the know.* (Tara Gentile’s Insight Intensive comes to mind…I cannot recommend Tara highly enough). And if you’re launching something, be sure to let Stacy Stone know.

And I ALSO recommend launching anyway.
